JavaScript/TypeScript — strong fundamentals, you know why things work, not just that they do.
Modern frontend frameworks — React experience preferred, you've shipped something real with it.
Backend and databases — comfortable with Node/Python, REST APIs, and relational databases.
Good tradeoffs under ambiguity — when the spec is incomplete and the deadline is real, you figure it out.
Bonus — PHP experience, or you've worked on an AI product and want more of it.
